As a pasture-based farm, we use regenerative practices like pasture-rotation, which enhance soil health, promote biodiversity, and minimize our environmental impact. We are committed to raising animals in the most natural and humane way possible.
Born and raised on the farm, our cattle have free roam of our beautiful fields and are bathed in the North Carolina sunshine. We’re especially proud of our Dexter cows, which we raise on a grass-fed and grass-finished diet. These heritage breed cattle thrive on our pastures, where they have access to a variety of vegetation and wild growth.
Our pigs are free to roam, forage, nap in the shade of the pines, and relax in the cool mud. When needed, their diet is supplemented with local, non-GMO feed.
Our chickens and turkeys forage our pastures with access to fresh air, grass, and sunlight. We feed them a supplemental high-quality local and non-GMO chicken feed. We monitor each chicken for health, wellness, and happiness.
We are very transparent about how our sustainable farm is operated. Join our email list for seasonal farm events and farm tours.
We’re passionate about helping people understand where their food comes from and how it’s produced.
CATHIS Farm is named after our three children, Caleb, Thor, and Isla. As a veteran and family-owned and operated business, we built this farm with the goal of instilling in our children a love of agriculture and a deep appreciation for the value of hard work.
By involving our kids in the day-to-day operations of the farm, we hope to pass on important life skills and a sense of responsibility. At the same time, we’re able to provide our family with wholesome, locally sourced meat that we’re proud to share with our community.
We believe that by building a sustainable, community-oriented farm, we’re creating a legacy that our children can be proud of and that our customers can rely on.
We are grateful for your support of our family farm! -David & Holly Pflugfelder
